Vital Signs 2025: One of the most strategic endeavours we will make

In 2025, we will be introducing a community research program, called Vital Signs. This program uses local data and local knowledge to measure the health and vitality of a community and supports action towards improving collective quality of life for all. This will include Vital Conversations, inclusive community consultation to ensure non dominant voices are included in our work. We will be partnered with the Kawartha Works Community Co-op Inc. and the municipality, City of Kawartha Lakes, in this endeavour.

The results of this work will direct our Foundation investments to where they can have the greatest benefit and impact in the Kawartha Lakes. Vital Signs research helps inform larger public funders that our region needs investment.

ABOUT VITAL SIGNS

Vital Signs is Canada’s most extensive community-driven data program. Spearheaded by Community Foundations of Canada and led by community foundations in Canada and around the world.

Vital Signs is locally led by community foundations and used by residents, businesses, community organizations, universities and colleges and government leaders to learn about community needs, take action and direct resources where they will have the greatest impact.

SEEKING VITAL PARTNERS!

Vital Signs is most strategic endeavours we can make, offering the region an updated, comprehensive, data informed understanding of where the Kawartha Lakes is thriving and where we are not. We are partnered with our municipality, City of Kawartha Lakes, to begin a multiyear journey measure our community’s well being.

To make it happen, we need partner support. With funding, we can ensure reporting across all areas of community vitality, ensure research results are available online and support action planning. Please reach out to us to join the efforts! Email Laurie @ KawarthaFoundation.ca or donate to the Foundation’s Opportunity Fund.
