TELUS Health MyCare in Kawartha Lakes

The community we live in is part of who we are. Helping others is often at the top of our minds. There are approximately 20% of residents in Kawartha Lakes without access to a family doctor. The Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes and the Community Fund of Fenelon Falls announce a collaboration with TELUS Health MyCare to promote community awareness of opportunities to access virtual health care and thereby improve overall health and well-being.

Improving Access to Healthcare in Our Community

This project will help residents without access to a family doctor as well as those who wish to seek after-hours medical care via the TELUS Health MyCare virtual care app telus.com/MyCare.

It makes available virtual consultations with physicians from a smart device, where and when it is convenient, for all residents in Ontario who are covered under provincial healthcare plans at no direct cost.  Through the app, patients can also book appointments with registered mental health counsellors or dieticians for a fee, although this may be covered by private insurance.

“We are excited about this opportunity to improve the wellbeing of our community and will continue to work together with community organizations that benefit all of us.”
— Glen Wright, CFKL Board Member
