World-renowned local business, Kawartha Dairy Limited, is making a substantial donation to the Bobcaygeon and Area COVID-19 Relief Fund to support the urgent needs of the area patients, families and health care workers affected by the Coronavirus.

"This is a very tragic time at Pinecrest Nursing Home and for our community of Bobcaygeon. It is very sad and our hearts go out to all the Pinecrest residents, employees and family members associated with this unfortunate situation,” said Allison Shaw of Kawartha Dairy. “This is a small town and many of us have relatives, friends and neighbours who have been impacted. Our prayers are with them.”

“In an effort to help, Kawartha Dairy is making a $10,000 donation to the Bobcaygeon and Area COVID-19 Relief Fund aimed at helping those affected by the outbreak," Shaw announced.

The Bobcaygeon and Area COVID-19 Relief Fund is being managed by the Community Foundation of Kawartha Lakes. “This donation by Kawartha Dairy is a great show of community support,” noted foundation President Mike Perry. “These funds will be spent locally to help the people in Bobcaygeon and area who are in such great need right now. We are honoured to be able to use the foundation to help people and build up our local communities especially in these hard times.”

The Bobcaygeon and Area Covid-19 Relief Fund will provide immediate support including food supplies, transportation, technology, and mental wellness counselling.

“This donation by Kawartha Dairy is a great show of community support,” noted foundation President Mike Perry. “The financial response from individuals and businesses near and far has been incredible. The Community Foundation is also pleased to be able to help in this time of heartbreaking crisis here locally,” he added.

For over 80 years, Kawartha Dairy has been proud to be a 100% Canadian-owned company, still operated by the same family that started it back in the beginning. Although it has grown tremendously from its early days, it remains headquartered in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, where it was founded.
